What is PMU?
It stands for permanent make up. Clients love permanent make-up because
it allows them to feel more confident on a day-to-day basis and not have
to use the harsh chemicals that are found in modern makeup.
Is PMU is truly permanent?
No, actually it's semipermanent. This is a good thing. It allows the
artist to make subtle changes to the PMU as years progress to keep it
looking fresh. In the last five years, the industry has grown tremendously.
Advancements in pigments, technique, and tools have made it
so PMU heals more naturally.
Does it hurt?
Two Topical numbing is are used with each procedure. Most clients feel
very comfortable throughout the procedure and often fall asleep.
How long does it last?
On average, 1 to 2 1/2 years, depending on skin, type and lifestyle.
Does it need to be touched up?
Yes, color boosts are recommended anywhere from 1 to 2 1/2 years.
Am I a good candidate?
Most people are great candidates for permanent makeup.
What if I have previous work from another artist?
Consultations are strongly recommended if you have previous work. If
the work is light enough, I may be able to color correct or soften some
of the old work if not, laser removal maybe recommended.
What is the procedure like?
PMU is done in two sessions. The first session generally takes 2 1/2
to 3 hours. Your work will look complete but we want to see the healed
results 6 to 8 weeks later. At that time, the second session is used to
perfect the PMU work.
Is it sanitary?
All items involved in the procedure are sanitized and sterilized,
prepackaged and one time use only for the procedure and client.
How do I prepare for my procedure?
The day before, and the day of please limit alcoholic beverages and
caffeine beverages, as well as the use of blood thinners.
If you were having a lip blush procedure and have had a cold sore
before please take an anti-viral beforehand. This can be prescribed
by your general physician. An outbreak of a cold sore would be very
uncomfortable during their lip blush healing.
If you have never had a cold sore, there isn't a need to worry as
lip blushing cannot give you the cold sore virus.
What if I have had lip filler or Botox?
Botox is recommended 10 days prior to the procedure or anytime after
the procedure. It's isn't necessary if you are very regular with Botox.
Lip filler is recommended 4 weeks after the procedure or 4 weeks prior.
What is brow lamination? Am I a good candidate?
Brow lamination as a chemical treatment for brow hair, think of a
keratin treatment. It can make the hair lay smooth in a desired
direction. It's lasts 8-10 weeks. Some people are good candidates.
It just depends on your hair growth pattern.
What is a lash lift? Am I a good candidate?
Lash lifts are chemical treatment safe for lashes to make them
curled and lifted to open the eyes. It lasts 6 to 8 weeks.
What about lash extensions?
Lash extensions are a really fun way to make your life easier
without mascara! Lash extensions are completely customizable through
the length, curl, and thickness.
Lashes are carefully applied always keeping the integrity of the
natural lashes in mind. So should you decide to remove the extensions
your natural lashes remain how they were prior to extensions.
How often do I need to keep up the lash extensions?
Most clients come in for fill anywhere between 2-4 weeks.
Preference and active lifestyle play a role in this. Also, cleansing
will determine retention if oily or heavy skincare products are used
lashes may shed faster.
Natural lashes go through a shedding process that lasts 2-6 weeks.
